I have heard through some friends that Haulover Marina is going to build a new drystack facility in the near future. I love that location. That would be awesome! Does anyone know if this is really going to happen, and any details?
You are right Jeff....looks like it is now slated to happen.
Westrec finally secured a 30 year lease for that location , and now plan to go forward with their new dry stack building as soon as permitting is completed. The building will house 500 boats up to 50' in length. You are right about the location, it is the best in town.
The new marina, when finally completed, will be a real game changer for that area.
That really is great news. I live in Broward but do my boating down in that area and Biscayne Bay. I wiould consider moving into the new facility depending on the cost. I was in Haurbor Towne on the Dania Canal but moved west on the canal to Thunderboat Marine and saved a bunch of money. Westrec is the top of the class for rack storage.
" One of the marinas offering the best prices right now in S. Florida is Thunderboat Marina in Dania. They are in the process of renovating, and they are being VERY aggressive price-wise."
2 words - STAY AWAY! After several months there and rack storing 2 boats we quickly pulled out due to the damages to our boat by their service department and forklift operators. Last year when we first arriived things seemed to flow better however the place has fallen apart in the last few months especially with the employee trunover. It's the old "you get what you pay for".
