Howdo you know how to choose the right sized life jacket? Also, do they make lifepreservers for large/obese people? Friday the 13th

Do any of you boaters believe the superstitions around Friday the 13th? I have a boater friend who will not go out on the waters on this day at all! He's convinced something bad would happen if he did.

I hear there are superstitions about this day in all areas of the world and society but I know many boaters to be more superstitious than your average Joe. Is there really anything different about today or any more danger to getting on the waters?
