I live in Palm Beach County and am embarrassed to say I've never taken my PWC to Broward. Renting a house on a navigable canal end of this month in Oakland Park and have friends coming from out of town. The owner of the home said the two closest boat ramps are Cherry Creek and Colohatchee. Two questions: 1) For those with experience at both, is one better than the other?; 2) Any suggestions on where to head after dropping in? Any sandbars to hang out at, fun spots, etc. Thanks in advance!

Towables and Inflatables: Plenty of Water Fun and Enjoyment
It is rare to go to the lake or beach without seeing people laughing and having loads of fun riding on towables being pulled behind the boat. Water sport enthusiasts also enjoy other products that are stationery rather than towed, but either way one thing is for sure: Those folks are having fun!…

A number of laws come into play for water sporting in Florida. Like every other state, Florida, too, regulates major water sports like diving, skiing and hunting. It provides for a number of safety regulations that may be useful to you, even crucial, if you plan on any kind of water sports in Florida waters.
For waterskiing, state law has a number of regulations. A skiing vessel needs to have an observer, besides its operator, who can see how the skier is doing, and if…

So with all the ethanol problems out there I ve been looking for the best fuel to run in my boat. Aquamarina Hidden Harbour in Pompano Beach has 93 Octane no ethanol fuel. Its done wonders for my boat! What's even better is they are competitively priced with other marinas selling their recreational 90. Shoot Im putting 93 in my boat for the same price. Check them out!

A couple of years ago I was in Bimini and ran into a grea group of people that were in an informal yacht club OTR. OTR stood for many different things depending on which member you asked. If anyone out there knows contact info for this group I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Ride down most any street along the Florida coastline and you’re going to see lots and lots of boats being pulled to and from the water by all types of vehicles. Look a little closer and you’ll see many of them not hooked up correctly. Apparently, there are many people out there who don’t realize just how vital it is for that boat trailer to be properly hooked to the vehicle.
I’ve seem them with the latch up and the chains that are designed as a safety precaution wrapped around the…

Do any of you boaters believe the superstitions around Friday the 13th? I have a boater friend who will not go out on the waters on this day at all! He's convinced something bad would happen if he did.
I hear there are superstitions about this day in all areas of the world and society but I know many boaters to be more superstitious than your average Joe. Is there really anything different about today or any more danger to getting on the waters?
It's a sunny but cool day…

If you have your own boat, you’re going to need insurance for it and there is a wealth of companies trying to sell you some. My dad taught me when I was still a girl how important boat insurance was but it’s unfortunate most people don’t get taught how to find a good boat insurance company.
Know this: all boat insurance companies are not the same.
Don’t just go with the first insurance company to come your way and remember that you don’t have to be locked into one offered…

There appears to be some confusion on the difference between forum / discussions and blogs. In general, a forum/discussion is intended for two way conversations and/or questions and a blog can be thought of as more of a one way journal that can be commented on.
A blog (short for weblog) is a personal online journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. They are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of…
